Overview

By the end of this program, the viewer should be able to: 

  • Explain the signs and symptoms of chronic venous disease.
  • Discuss the physical examination criteria of chronic venous insufficiency (VI).
  • Restate the elements of the CEAP (clinical severity, etiology, anatomic, pathophysiology) classification.
  • Recognize vascular anatomy of the deep and superficial venous systems of the lower extremity.
  • Describe the use of duplex ultrasound in the diagnosis of incompetent perforator veins.
