According to estimates from the American Cancer Society, approximately 67, 000 new cases of lymphoma were reported in the United States in 2006. In the past, the main staging tool was computed tomography (CT). By adding positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, there is an impact in the diagnosis and staging of over one-third of patients with this disease. In this program, we examine lymphoma and how PET and PET/CT can change patient management.
